Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.31 improves driving, photo mode, and quests
CD Projekt Red has rolled out Patch 2.31 for Cyberpunk 2077, further refining the Night City experience with key updates to AutoDrive, Photo Mode, and numerous bug fixes across the game. This is the first update since July’s feature-packed Patch 2.3, which introduced new vehicles, quests, and traversal options that revitalized interest in the open-world RPG.

The highlight of Patch 2.31 is the upgraded AutoDrive system. Vehicles will now take players to their selected destinations more smoothly, automatically overtaking slower traffic and ignoring unnecessary stops at traffic lights. Free Roam mode has also been improved to follow traffic rules more reliably, giving players a more natural cruising experience in Night City.
Photo Mode has also received meaningful quality-of-life changes. Many of the new poses introduced in July now work with any gender, giving players more freedom to capture their favorite moments. CDPR has additionally disabled NPC collision in Photo Mode, making it easier to place NPCs on cars or other objects for creative screenshots.
Beyond these headline features, Patch 2.31 delivers a range of quest fixes, resolves a major issue that blocked progression in the “Motorbreath” job, and addresses graphical and ray tracing glitches. Mac players also benefit from several stability improvements and optimizations, making the newly launched macOS version more polished than ever.
Interestingly, this update arrives not long after CDPR teased a crossover event between Cyberpunk 2077 and Arena Breakout: Infinite, continuing the studio’s commitment to keeping the game alive and culturally relevant through new content and collaborations.
With Patch 2.31 now live, there’s never been a better time to jump into Night City—or revisit it to try out the new features. Use our price comparison tool to find the best deal for Cyberpunk 2077 on your platform of choice and experience the definitive version of the game today.
