WiCi One is a wireless eGPU that delivers RTX 5090 power over Wi-Fi 7

External GPUs have traditionally required a high-bandwidth wired connection such as Thunderbolt 5 or OCuLink, but WiCi is taking a different approach with the WiCi One. Instead of connecting a graphics card to a laptop with a cable, the new eGPU uses Wi-Fi 7 to wirelessly deliver graphics performance to compatible devices, potentially giving thin-and-light laptops access to much more powerful hardware without sacrificing their slim designs.

The WiCi One houses everything inside a single enclosure, including a dedicated GPU, Wi-Fi 7 module, processor, storage and cooling system. The entry-level configuration combines an Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of VRAM, an Intel Core 3 100U processor and 1TB of NVMe storage. WiCi is also preparing a considerably more powerful model featuring an RTX 5090 with 32GB of memory, an Intel Core Ultra 7 225H and a 4TB NVMe 5 SSD.

WiCi's own performance figures suggest the wireless connection can handle demanding workloads. The RTX 5090 version is advertised at up to 110 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra with DLSS 4, while 4K Cinematic settings with DLSS 4 reportedly reach 90 FPS. The RTX 5060 Ti model is listed at around 80 FPS and 60 FPS under the same respective settings. Beyond gaming, WiCi is positioning the device as a compact workstation for demanding AI workloads and locally running AI assistants.

The key to the WiCi One is its Wi-Fi 7 connection, which makes it as one of the earliest eGPUs to function via a wireless connection. Wi-Fi 7 offers a theoretical maximum bandwidth of 46Gbps, exceeding DisplayPort 1.4a's 32.4Gbps figure. However, simply using a wireless connection at that bandwidth is not enough for an eGPU, since latency and consistency are just as important as raw throughput. WiCi says it modified how the connection handles data, using asynchronous transmission to reduce latency and make Wi-Fi 7 viable as an alternative to USB4 or Thunderbolt.

The RTX 5060 Ti model is currently available for preorder at $1,999 (around €1,719 / £1,479), although its eventual MSRP will rise to $2,599 (around €2,235 / £1,923). WiCi expects the first units to ship during Q4 2026, while pricing for the RTX 5090 configuration will be announced closer to launch. If WiCi's implementation works as advertised, the WiCi One could offer a new way to add desktop-class graphics to laptops without sacrificing portability or dealing with another high-speed cable.
