It's been quite a while since we heard of Battlefield 6 for the first time. Electronic Arts has confirmed its existence in 2020 but we had no information about the game other than that the initial release window had been set for 2021 - 2022 to make use of the technology of the new generation of consoles. Blake Jorgensen, CFO of the company, announced last April that it would be better for Battlefield 6 if it didn't launch at the same time as the consoles.
Other than that, all we know about Battlefield 6 right now is that Dice, who is in charge of development, is now entirely focused on the new opus since Battlefield V and Star Wars Battlefront II will not receive updates anymore.
Without having published a video or any images yet, EA is now breaking its long silence. Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts took to the stage to announce thatBattlefield 6 will be revealed in the spring of 2021, with a release slated to arrive later this year.
“The team is focused and the game is ahead of our internal milestones. We will reveal the game in the spring and deliver a defining Battlefield experience for our players in holiday 2021.”
This is good news for all players who are eagerly awaiting this new installment in the Battlefield series. On the other hand, with the lack of official information about Battlefield 6, it is not surprising that plenty of rumors start appearing. One of them is about the release of a Battlefield 3 remaster that would arrive at the same time as the next installment. Nothing has been confirmed so far, of course. Battlefield 6 is expected to feature massive multiplayer battles for up to 128 players but we will have to wait a bit longer to find out more about the game.
The fans of the series will surely be happy now that they are getting news of Battlefield 6.
