Culdcept BEGINS Is Out on PC: Maps, Editions and Launch Discount

Culdcept BEGINS, the first new entry in the long-running board-and-card hybrid series in over a decade, is now available on PC. The Steam version launched on October 27, 2026 with a 10% launch discount, three months after the game's debut on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

Developed and published by Neos Corporation, the PC version went live on Steam on October 27, 2026 (October 28 in Japan). It's currently available with a 10% launch discount that will run through November 10. Culdcept BEGINS already generated significant interest with its console versions. They were released on July 16, 2026 through Clear River Games, and have already surpassed 100,000 units shipped worldwide including digital sales.

What is Culdcept BEGINS?

Created by Omiya Soft back in 1997, Culdcept fuses a board game with a collectible card game. In this experience, you roll dice to move across the board, claim territories, and battle with creatures while using items and spells. The luck component is always present but strategy also plays an important role. Culdcept BEGINS is the first brand-new title in the series in more than ten years, and it brings modern visuals, an updated interface and over 400 cards featuring all-new artwork.

The story of Culdcept BEGINS unfolds on Bavrashka, a continent created by the gods, where Cepter Kamur is recruited into the Royal Cepter Guard Regiment after his abilities are recognized at the Royal Cept Academy.

What's new on PC

The Steam version features content and improvements that the Switch versions don't have yet:

• Three new battle maps, each with its own strategic characteristics
• Ten new Book Cover designs for your in-game decks, including creature-themed covers picked by the development team
• A card name read-aloud feature in the Card Library, so you can hear creature and spell names spoken aloud
• UI improvements: better visibility of character positions in Map Mode, improved card selection in the Information screen, and clearer movement directions at route junctions

All of these additions will be available via a free update for the Switch and Switch 2 versions at a later date.

Editions, launch discount and bonuses

The Standard Edition is currently available on Steam with a 10% launch celebration sale. The discount will be available through November 10, 2026.

Two paid additions have been announced but are not yet available on Steam as of October 29, 2026 — both are still listed as "coming soon":

• Digital Deluxe Edition — the base game plus five digital items: the Complete Card Book illustrated by lead designer Satoshi Matsuura, the 53-track original soundtrack by Noisycroak, five PC wallpapers, in-game voice data and the Bavrashka font
• Digital Content Set — the same five digital items on their own, for players who already own the game on Steam, Switch or Switch 2

Reception: 100k shipped and Very Positive reviews

As of October 29, 2026, the Steam version holds a Very Positive rating with 87% of 74 user reviews positive. Combined with the 100,000+ units shipped on consoles since July, the series' blend of dice, territory and card combat is clearly finding its audience.
