Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League delayed till 2024
Bad news for DC gaming fans—Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has once again been delayed, this time by nearly a year. There were rumors swirling that this would happen, and today developer Rocksteady has confirmed via social media that their co-op looter-shooter will launch on February 2024 instead of May:
"We have made the tough but necessary decision to take the time needed to work on getting the game to be the best quality experience for players. Thank you to our amazing community for the continued support, patience, and understanding. There is much more to share in the months ahead and we look forward to seeing you in Metropolis next year."

This isn’t the first time that Suicide Squad has been pushed back significantly. Warner Brothers was set to launch the game in 2022, but opted for a May 2023 release instead. So now it’s going to take quite a while before we see Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark take on a Braniac-controlled Justice League.
To give this announcement context, last month, a demo of Suicide Squad for PlayStation’s State of Play caused a stir among players when it was revealed that the game will have a live service mechanic and will require you to always be online. Others expressed dissatisfaction over the loot-based shooting mechanics, citing it as a step-down from the Arkham series, which Suicide Squad is to be a continuation of. It will in fact be actor Kevin Conroy’s last performance in his iconic role of Batman.
Given these criticisms, it does sound like a good idea to delay the game until these issues can are fixed. As an industry saying goes, “A delayed game may eventually be good; a rushed game will be bad forever.” That said, a single year isn’t going to be enough time to remove all of the core mechanics players have taken issue with, such as the live service elements. It’s more likely we’ll see some polish and a better implementation of what’s already there. Then again, WB could always just delay the release once more.
Suicide Squad will release in February 2024, barring any further setbacks. Hopefully, we’ll see a new and improved game by then. You can keep an eye out for a Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League key using our comparator.
