Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be playable offline

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been hit by several controversies since the game was announced. First, the release of the game has been subject to substantial delays which is something most video game players are used to. Later, developer Rocksteady confirmed that players would need to be permanently connected online to play the game. This really annoyed a community of fans who couldn't understand such a requirement when playing the game in single-player mode.

It's time to backpedal

Aiming for the best possible future for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady has confirmed via Discord that it will be removing that requirement. The catch? The studio will not be in time to make such a change before the game is released and players will have to wait for a post-launch patch to play the game without being connected to the Internet.

"In addition to our latest trailer, we also have some news to share. We're happy to confirm, we are planning to add an offline story mode that will give players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection. We’re aiming to add this update in 2024 and will provide more details when available."

The announcement was made during The Game Awards alongside the reveal of a new trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League that shows Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Harley Quinn fighting against members of the Justice League controlled by Brainiac in a devastated Metropolis.
