Warhammer 40,000: Darktide gets a new gameplay trailer and enters preorder

The independent developer Fatshark released a two-minute gameplay trailer for its upcoming 4-player co-op game, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The brand new gameplay video, highlighting one mission, premiered during the Summer Game Fest broadcast. The shooter is in the hands of the same team behind the Warhammer: Vermintide series.

The title was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in July last year and, at the time, was expected to be released later in 2021. Developers said they needed more time to finalize the project, hence the postponement.

In the gameplay video, Heretics sabotage Tertium's power system, and it is up to the four heroes to save the day. The gameplay promises intense and brutal action versus a horde of bloodthirsty foes that adapts as the game progress.

Martin Wahlund, the CEO of Fatshark, shared some thoughts:

"It's been an exciting, and maybe a little crazy week for Fatshark, with two brand new Warhammer 40,000: Darktide trailers released. While last week's amazing Warhammer Skulls trailer focused more on story, gameplay is what it all comes down to, and today we gave you almost 120 seconds of Darktide."

In Darktide, you will be able to create your own character by customizing your appearance, voice, and origin, as well as choosing one of the available classes, each with its own abilities and advantages. Unlike Vermintide, which focuses on melee combat, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will emphasize firearms action, but it will also feature melee weapons.

Players who don't own a PC can play Darktide by streaming it from the cloud with NVIDIA GeForce NOW. The game will be available on September 13 on PC and Xbox Series X|S. You can check out the best deals for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide in our comparator.
