GTA 6 hype is so big that workers are already booking days off
Grand Theft Auto 6 is not even out yet, but it is already causing the kind of chaos only Rockstar can create. With pre-orders opening on June 25 and the game set to launch on November 19, 2026, players are not just wishlisting the game. They are planning their lives around it. Days off, fake sick days, long weekends, “family emergencies” that suspiciously involve Vice City — you can already see where this is going.
Burger Motorsports is already treating GTA 6 like a holiday
The funniest example so far comes from Burger Motorsports, the car tuning company known online as Burger Tuning. The company went viral after sharing a memo saying it would observe a temporary company-wide operational pause on Thursday, November 19, 2026. In normal words: they are basically closing for GTA 6 launch day. The memo joked that several employees would be unavailable, unreachable, or “in Vice City,” and warned that customer support, order processing, shipping, engineering, social media, and general productivity could all be affected.
That is the kind of thing you usually see as a meme, not as a workplace notice. But with GTA 6, it somehow makes perfect sense. This is not just another big game release. This is the follow-up to one of the most played and talked-about games ever, arriving after more than a decade of waiting. GTA 5 was huge, of course, but the situation around GTA 6 feels different. Back then, social media was not the same monster it is now, streaming was not as dominant, and gaming culture had not fully become this global, always-online event machine.
Now, everyone is watching. Players want to be there on day one. Content creators want the first clips. Friends want to explore Vice City together before the internet spoils every weird mission, secret car, and ridiculous NPC moment. Even people who have not touched a GTA game in years are suddenly paying attention again.
So yes, launch day may genuinely hit some workplaces. Maybe not every company will shut down like Burger Motorsports, but plenty of managers are probably going to notice a strange wave of paid time off requests around November 19.
If you are planning to jump in too, pre-orders open in about a week. Use our price comparison tool to find the best prices for Grand Theft Auto 6 and make sure your trip to Vice City starts with the best deal possible.
