Sony and Rockstar unveil limited-edition GTA VI DualSense controllers

GTA VI gets two flashy limited-edition DualSense controllers before release

With Grand Theft Auto VI still a few months away, Sony and Rockstar have revealed a new way for fans to celebrate the upcoming release. The companies have introduced two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by the game’s neon-soaked Vice City setting.

Revealed during the latest State of Play presentation, the controllers come in Black and White variants, with each model representing a different side of Vice City. Both feature a shimmering finish that shifts between colors, evoking the city's vibrant sunsets and glowing nightlife.

The designs go beyond simply adding GTA VI branding, too. Molded palm tree details are built directly into the controllers, giving them a more distinctive physical appearance.

The White Limited Edition draws inspiration from Vice City during the daytime, incorporating elements associated with its beaches, pastel-colored skies and laid-back atmosphere. The Black Limited Edition, meanwhile, takes the darker route, reflecting the city's energetic nightlife and neon-covered streets.

Naturally, these controllers will also take advantage of the DualSense features once GTA VI arrives. Sony says the game's action will make use of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, with dynamic resistance designed to make interactions feel more immersive. In other words, you'll be getting a little closer to experiencing the world through the hands of protagonists Jason and Lucia.

Both editions are scheduled to launch on November 19, which is also the current release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. However, Sony says the controllers will be produced in limited quantities, so collectors and GTA fans probably won't want to wait too long before placing an order.

Pre-orders are scheduled to open on September 10 at 10 a.m. local time across several markets, including the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The Black edition will be available through PlayStation Direct where the service operates, while the White model will additionally be sold through participating retailers. Availability may differ depending on the region.

Pricing is set at $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99, with the controllers launching alongside GTA VI on November 19. You can check the official blog post here on PlayStation's website.
