The new GTA VI footage has me fully sold

This is the GTA VI gameplay reveal we wanted
Gameplay

The wait is finally over. After weeks of leaks, rumors and endless GTA VI discussions, Rockstar has finally given us the real deal: 27 minutes of Grand Theft Auto VI footage captured entirely on a PlayStation 5. And yes, it looks absolutely incredible.

Seeing the game running on a regular PS5 makes the whole thing even more impressive. Vice City and the wider world of Leonida look packed with detail, from the streets and traffic to beaches, nightlife and quieter moments between Jason and Lucia. There is a lot happening in almost every scene, yet somehow it still feels natural rather than like Rockstar is simply trying to show off.

One thing that immediately caught my attention was the vehicle physics. There is something about the way the cars move, lean and react to the road that gives me slight GTA IV vibes — and I mean that as a compliment. GTA V made driving faster and more arcade-like, while this footage seems to bring back a little more weight and realism. Cars actually look like heavy objects moving through the world again.

Rockstar is truly stepping up its game

But the guns might have sold me even more. The weapon sounds are seriously punchy. Gunshots have a much heavier, sharper impact than they did in GTA V, especially during the shootouts shown throughout the presentation. Combined with the animations, environments and audio design, combat already appears much more immersive. You can almost feel how loud those weapons would be in the middle of a street or inside a building.

And honestly, that barely scratches the surface. Police chases, underwater exploration, basketball, crowded clubs, boats, highways, wildlife and plenty of classic GTA chaos all appear during the extended look. More importantly, Jason and Lucia's relationship continues to look like the emotional center holding everything together.

There is simply too much packed into these 27 minutes to describe every little detail, so this is one trailer you should absolutely watch for yourself.
