Tekken 8 Baki the Grappler crossover: Yujiro Hanma joins in winter

Tekken 8 has a busy few months ahead, and the latest EVO France trailer laid out the first part of it. It shows off Roger Jr, the boxing kangaroo arriving next month, and gives a first in-game look at the Baki the Grappler crossover, with Yujiro Hanma joining in the winter. The roster of fighters available in Tekken 8 has been expanded quiite a bit since the game was released. Additions like Kuma and Eddy Gordo brought into the game their unique playstyles. Now it's Yujiro Hanma's turn.

The crossover had been announced before, but the EVO France trailer is the first time it has been shown in the game. Yujiro Hanma is set to join in the winter. No exact release date has been given. According to the trailer, we'll see more of him at the Tekken World Tour Finals on January 17. As for how he looks, the trailer shows that he's every bit as sinewy and off-putting as the source material, and that he's keen to see his moveset in motion. Bandai Namco has made some bold guest character choices, but Yujiro Hanma from Baki the Grappler may be the wildest yet. He’s portrayed as impossibly strong, practically a walking disaster.

Roger Jr. is next in line

Roger Jr joins the roster next month. Early access starts on November 12, and everyone else gets him on November 17, 2026. The trailer focuses on the boxing kangaroo's moveset, which revolves around acrobatics and stomp moves, which fits the chaos Tekken 8 is known for. He looks like a lot of fun in the trailer, but that’s only a first impression, not a verdict on how he’ll feel in actual matches. Tekken 8's Season 3 has already featured Kunimitsu and Bob, and it will be interesting to see where the game goes with Season 4.

While Roger Jr is the sure thing, with a date, a moveset style, and an early access window. Yujiro Hanma is still the big question mark, confirmed for winter with a showcase on January 17.
