Street Fighter 6 new video showcases Blanka gameplay

Capcom has released a new gameplay video for Street Fighter 6, this time focusing on the classic green fighter, Blanka, who will be part of the roster for the next game in the franchise with a new, more beastly look.

The new preview, with just over 4 minutes of gameplay, highlights Blanka's play style, which continues to be geared toward more aggressive players. His classic abilities return, including roll attacks and electricity, but with new features mixed in. The stage they face off against is called Ranger's Hut and is very similar to Blanka's old Amazon River Basin stage. 

In the match, he faces the mysterious JP, a character who arrives for the first time in the franchise's competition. He is described as the leader of a global non-profit organization and responsible for several successful investments. Unlike Blanka, he is a more strategic fighter, using purple energy reminiscent of Psycho Power and portals he can use to teleport around the field.

In December 2022, Capcom released a new trailer, setting the stage for the game's arrival, which is designed to recreate the same kind of community atmosphere seen in the Street Fighter II era, according to the developers.

Street Fighter 6 seeks to fix all the problems of Street Fighter V, especially concerning its networking code. The game uses a quality netcode rollback, allowing responsive matches even against users from other countries with higher ping.

The focus is on World Tour Mode, which allows the creation of a character in a robust customization system to explore an open landscape for the first time in the franchise's history. On the journey, players meet legendary fighters, who become their masters, teach them techniques, and travel to different countries such as the United States, France, and Italy.
