Stellar Blade x Nier: Automata crossover is coming this November

During the latest State of Play in September, the PS5 exclusive Stellar Blade announced an exciting crossover with the fan-favorite NieR: Automata. While initial details were scarce, we now have more insights into the collaboration, including its release date.
 

This marks the first collaboration between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro, founded on mutual respect and creativity. Stellar Blade was inspired by NieR: Automata, and both creators are fans of each other's work.

According to the official PlayStation Blog, the DLC will introduce NieR: Automata's Emil as a shopkeeper in Stellar Blade, allowing players to visit Emil’s Shop, which will offer eleven exclusive items. Although the specific items have not been revealed, they promise to bring the best of both universes together.

Initially, fans speculated after the last State of Play that the collaboration might only include NieR: Automata-themed skins for Eve. However, this new announcement suggests a more extensive crossover, possibly including a set of quests inspired by the NieR: Automata world.

The NieR: Automata DLC for Stellar Blade will be a paid addition, but a free update will also launch the same day, adding several enhancements to Stellar Blade, such as:

• Photo Mode
• Enhanced lip-syncing
• New cosmetics
• Music selection at resting areas
• Expanded options for character customization

The development team of Stellar Blade from Shift Up also shared a heartfelt message for fans, expressing their excitement and gratitude, ahead of the highly anticipated update:

"This DLC and the patch updates were prepared by our development team with a unified vision, and we are thrilled to share them with you. We hope that the NieRcollaboration items and the new Photo Mode will enhance your gaming experience. We will continue to strive to meet the expectations and love our players have shown us."

The Stellar Blade x NieR: Automata crossover goes live on PlayStation 5 on November 20, 2024.
