Starfield is delayed, but it finally has a release date

Starfield, Bethesda's highly anticipated sci-fi RPG, has been given a release date set for September 6, 2023. The announcement of the arrival date for the title, exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC, was made via a video posted on the developer's official Twitter account. It is worth noting that the date also means a further delay concerning the last forecast the developer gave, which confirmed the game for the first half of 2023.

To compensate, the company responsible for the game will promote the Starfield Direct event on June 11 to show players more about the title. In the video published by Bethesda, you can see the space station of the Constellation, a group of space explorers trying to keep peace in the universe while hosting an astronaut. A narration talks about the strange anomalies occurring in the universe and that it may be possible for the player to discover their source. After the date is revealed, the game's director Todd Howard appears in the studio while people play the game in the background and talks more about the production, the release, and the event that will reveal more about the title.

Aside from 15 minutes of gameplay released in June 2022, little has been revealed about Starfield. What is known is that the game will be an open-world RPG set in space and will feature mechanics from other Bethesda series, such as Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. But the promise is to have an even broader scale of content.

Still, in the game, it will be possible to play in the first or third person, create your own character, carry out quests, and join factions that make up the game world's story. There will also be a combat system with a vast arsenal, such as pistols, rifles, shotguns, and more. Other elements mentioned include space exploration of different planets and base building. For those who remember, this was one of the prominent features promised in the first release of No Man's Sky.

Originally, Starfield was to be released on November 11, 2022. However, it was delayed twice, as it had been announced for the first half of 2023, alongside Redfall, and now it will arrive in September. Being a highly anticipated game since its announcement at E3 2021, the delays have frustrated those looking forward to the title.
