The week of April 6 to April 12, 2026, has very little to offer in terms of big releases. However, the arrival of Bethesda's RPG to Sony's consoles is worthy of attention, especially for PlayStation users.

April 6 - 12 releases

The biggest highlight of the week is the arrival of Starfield on PlayStation 5 on April 7. Originally released as a platform exclusive for PC and Xbox Series X/S, Bethesda's sci-fi role-playing game is now reaching a broader audience. This new version is expected to take advantage of the PS5’s hardware capabilities. The game features full DualSense support, including adaptive triggers for weapon feedback, haptic responses, dynamic light bar indicators for health and danger, controller speaker audio for in-game logs, and touchpad gestures for faster navigation. On PS5 Pro, it also introduces dedicated visual and performance modes using Sony’s upscaling technology, alongside optimizations for the console’s SSD to improve loading and traversal. For many PlayStation users, this marks their first opportunity to explore the game's expansive universe and deep customization systems.

Just a couple of days later, on April 9, DarkSwitch makes its debut. Although it does not carry the same level of mainstream attention, the game is generating interest among strategy fans for its darker tone and city-building mechanics. Darkswitch is a vertical survival city-builder set in a bleak, dark fantasy world where your last refuge clings to the towering branches of an immense, ancient tree. From this precarious sanctuary, you must guide a struggling population, carefully managing limited resources while expanding upward into the unknown.

As the month progresses, even more releases are expected to follow. However, this particular week offers you something very valuable if you are not interested in these two titles: time to enjoy your favourite games.
