Space Marine 2 Patch 16: Six New Heroic Weapons Revealed

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is preparing another major content update as Saber Interactive continues its third year of post-launch support. According to the official October Community Update, published on October 29, 2026, Patch 16 will add six new Heroic Weapons, giving players more ways to customize their Space Marines and approach combat. However, as of November 4, 2026, Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have not announced an official release date.

Heroic Weapons So Far: Patch 14, Patch 15 and Patch 16

The six announced weapons each feature a distinct combat mechanic. The Omnissian Axe generates and maintains a large shock zone while players hold their attack. The Heavy Bolt Pistol gains increased firing speed when used without aiming and deals considerably more damage at close range. Meanwhile, the Bolt Rifle rewards rhythmic single-shot firing with progressively increasing damage.

Other additions include the Las Fusil, which no longer requires charging and gradually regenerates ammunition, and the Plasma Incinerator, which deals additional damage when overheating. Rounding out the selection is the Infernus Heavy Bolter, featuring an underbarrel flamethrower for additional firepower.

These additions continue the Heroic Weapon system introduced in previous updates. Patch 14 expanded the weapon selection, while Patch 15 brought three more variants alongside its anniversary content. Space Marine 2 Reaches 15 Million Players

Beyond the upcoming weapons, Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment celebrated another impressive milestone: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has surpassed 15 million players. The October Community Update also offered a first teaser for the upcoming Mortifactors Cosmetic Pack, giving fans another Chapter-themed customization option to anticipate.

What's Next: Mortifactors Pack, Patch 17 and the Apothecary Class

Looking further ahead, the the September Community Update, the Apothecary class is officially scheduled to arrive with Patch 17 in Q1 2027. Players can also look forward to new Operations, weapons, and gameplay improvements. The developers have additionally confirmed that the Victrix Honour Guard Storm Shield will return to the Refinement & Redemption shop with Patch 17, available for Requisition Points.

For now, Patch 16's six Heroic Weapons are the main attraction, although players will have to wait for Saber Interactive to reveal its release schedule and further gameplay details.
