Saber Interactive has released the new Purgation update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, introducing one of the game's biggest content drops since launch. Patch 13 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, bringing a new PvE mission, major Siege Mode improvements, expanded customization systems, and new cosmetic content.

The update's main addition is Purgation, a new cooperative PvE Operation for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 set in the swamps of Kadaku. Players investigate a silent Mechanicus facility while battling Tyranid forces and uncovering the fate of the missing research team. Also, one of the community's most requested features also arrives with the new Battle Simulator aboard the Battle-Barge. The training mode allows players to test weapons, perks, enemy types, and class builds without entering full missions, making it easier to prepare for high-difficulty content.

As announced, the Purgation update introdices a significant overhaul to the Siege Mode, with improved progression systems, balancing changes, and new enemy encounters designed to increase replayability. Two major boss enemies have now been added to this mode: the Hive Tyrant and Mutalith Vortex Beast.

Patch 13 also introduces the One-Handed Bolt Carbine Sidearm, a fast-firing secondary weapon focused on close-range combat. Players can now create multiple weapon perk loadouts and use the expanded Wargear system for deeper build customization and squad specialization.

Alongside the free update, Season Pass 2 owners gain access to the new Iron Hands Chapter Pack, which includes:

A Techmarine Champion skin
An exclusive Omnissian Axe skin
New cybernetic-themed armor pieces
Additional cosmetic customization options

To celebrate the launch, Saber Interactive has also released a limited free trial version of the game on Steam and PlayStation 5, giving new players access to campaign content, PvE Operations, and PvP modes.
