No Man’s Sky's largest update of the year is here
No Man's Sky might be the biggest comeback in gaming history. After a disastrous launch in 2018 that seemed destined for failure, No Man's Sky has now won the hearts of fans through numerous updates and free DLC. And it seems the game's popularity isn't waning; in fact, it's growing stronger because the largest No Man’s Sky update of the year is here.
If the previous update of No Man's Sky brought us a whole new universe to explore, then in the No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 1 update, the entire universe we know in the game will be "refreshed," along with countless new technologies, gameplay opportunities, flora, and fauna.
Revamped Water & Clouds
To bring more life to the universe: seas, oceans, and lakes now ripple and sparkle with realistic wave formations and foam generation. Along with these dynamic water conditions, a complete overhaul of the water rendering technology also brings dramatic reflections and beautifully lit surface details.
Clouds have also been improved, bringing vastly increased detail and definition. The cloud system has been rewritten from the ground up to improve performance, fix visual artifacts, and introduce fine details such as wispy cirrus clouds and dark, rain-laden nimbus clouds. In addition, cloud coverage variety has been boosted, varying significantly from planet to planet, as well as over time and in response to local weather conditions.
New Expedition
No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 1 will feature the Big Hunt Expedition: The Liquidators as No Man’s Sky’s fourteenth community expedition. Players from all over the universe can engage in a galactic bug hunt and claim an exclusive selection of rewards, including mounted bug trophies, new posters, and a complete set of organic armor parts forged from the bodies of the brood themselves.
Murray, the founder and managing director of Hello Games, mentioned that this new expedition draws heavy inspiration from "Starship Troopers." Players will explore new planets and battle bugs, with progress driven by the community, similar to Helldivers 2. "There's a new mech equipped with heavy armor and an impressive flamethrower arm," Murray noted. "And you'll definitely need it!"
And there's still a long list of amazing things coming in No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 1. You can read more about them here.
With this major update, No Man’s Sky proudly asserts its position as a premiere space game, potentially standing shoulder to shoulder with Bethesda’s Starfield. Fans can rest assured that No Man’s Sky will continue to bring even more amazing update in the future.
No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 1 update is now available on all platforms, and Part 2 is in development. There's no better time than now to step into the vast universes of No Man’s Sky. Don't forget to use our price comparison tool to get the best deal for No Man’s Sky.
