No Man's Sky finally gets the recognition it deserves
It's undeniable that Hello Games has put a lot of effort into making No Man's Sky the impressive game it is today. The game was released eight years ago and its beginnings were rather problematic. Deemed as a "walking simulator", the game didn't appeal to many players. However, the guys at the developer studio were adamant to the critics and continued with their plans to expand the game at all levels. Updates kept arriving steadily over the years, each one adding new features and gameplay enhancements. Multiplayer, new exploration and combat mechanics, starships, pirates, expeditions...The universe of No Man's Sky became huge, and the number of players in the game and its popularity increased more and more over the years. One of the latest updates even added a parallel universe for players to explore during Halloween.
Negative reviews
Despite all the improvements, it was only two years after it was released that No Man's Sky stopped having a majority of "overwhelmingly negative" reviews on Steam. The initial wave of discontent with the game, a general failure to realize where it was headed, and the usual impatience have weighted its progress. Hello Games didn't even charge extra for all the work nor release DLCs to pay for all that effort. Every update made to No Man's Sky has been free of charge. In the end, all the hard work has paid off, and after eight years the game has finally achieved a "Very Positive" rating on Valve's platform.
Even though this can be considered an achievement that may positively impact future sales of No Man's Sky, it's more of a recognition of all the work and commitment from the studio towards making its game great. Of course, Hello Games doesn't plan to stop expanding No Man's Sky with new features. It surely won't be too long until the studio releases a new free update full of exciting content for the game.
