MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls officially launched on August 6 for PS5 and PC, bringing Arc System Works and Marvel’s fighting game to players. Notably, soon after launch, the game’s post-launch content plans were also quickly updated, giving players a look at what is coming throughout Year 1.

Phoenix Cyclops leads Year 1 with the power of the Phoenix Force

The first confirmed character for Year 1 is Phoenix Cyclops, a special version of Cyclops inspired by the Phoenix Five from Avengers vs. X-Men. Rather than relying solely on the X-Men leader’s familiar abilities, such as his Optic Blast and close-range attacks, this version also wields the power of the Phoenix Force, giving Scott Summers a completely different look and fighting style. Phoenix Cyclops will also be the first character added to the game as part of the Year 1 plan.

Following Phoenix Cyclops, the Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass will continue to roll out in several stages. The currently announced schedule is:

October–December 2026: Phoenix Cyclops
January–March 2027: Character 2
April–June 2027: Character 3 and Stage 1
July–September 2027: Character 4

In total, the Year 1 Pass will add four playable characters and one new stage. Aside from Phoenix Cyclops, the identities of the other three characters have yet to be revealed, while no further details about the new stage have been announced. The current roadmap runs through September 2027, with the Year 1 content being released across several stages rather than all at once.

Alongside the characters and stage, the Pass also includes a set of character poses for the results screen, with this content unlocked immediately. The Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass is included with the Digital Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition.

Marvel Tokon mise beaucoup sur son système de combat en équipe et la feuille de route semble vouloir renforcer cet aspect avec de nouveaux personnages. Phoenix Cyclops ouvre le bal, avant plusieurs autres ajouts répartis jusqu’en septembre 2027. Le calendrier donne une bonne visibilité sur le contenu prévu, même si l’intérêt réel de chaque ajout dépendra surtout de son intégration dans le gameplay et de son équilibre

Le système de combat paraît particulièrement intéressant, car chaque joueur doit gérer à la fois son personnage principal, ses assistances et la composition globale de son équipe.

J'ai pu voir du gameplay via des streamers et le jeu a l'air bien complet, difficile certes avec le roster de 4 personnages par joueur mais pour quiconque aime maitriser multiple combattants, c'est un bon opus pour, d'autant plus qu'il est récent donc pas mal de monde sera actif sur le titre d'autant plus que l'univers est très populaire en soit.
