Sony details new PlayStation gaming monitor and FlexStrike fight stick

PlayStation expands hardware lineup with three new gaming devices this year

Sony is expanding its gaming hardware lineup this summer with three new accessories aimed at PlayStation and PC players: the PlayStation Gaming Monitor, the FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick, and the upcoming Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. With monitor pre-orders opening on June 5 and FlexStrike pre-orders following on June 12, Sony is building a more complete desktop gaming ecosystem around the PlayStation brand.

The centerpiece is the new 27-inch PlayStation Gaming Monitor, which features a built-in DualSense charging hook and is scheduled for release on August 27, 2026. The display supports up to 120Hz on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, while PC and Mac users can take advantage of a 240Hz refresh rate. Variable refresh rate support is available through both HDMI VRR and AMD FreeSync Premium.

Sony has equipped the monitor with an IPS panel offering 95% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, along with seamless input switching between connected devices. Connectivity is generous, featuring two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, a headphone jack, USB Type-B, USB Type-C, and two USB Type-A ports, all supporting 5Gbps transfer speeds. Additional features include integrated 3W stereo speakers, 100x100mm VESA mounting support, height and tilt adjustments, and PlayStation-specific enhancements such as Auto HDR Tone Mapping for PS5 consoles.

The FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick is aimed primarily at fighting game enthusiasts. While similar to traditional arcade sticks, it includes several premium features designed for competitive play. Wireless connectivity uses Sony’s PlayStation Link technology rather than Bluetooth, delivering a low-latency 4ms response time. A single PlayStation Link adapter can connect two FlexStrike controllers simultaneously, making it particularly appealing for local multiplayer and tournament setups. Wired connectivity is also supported.

The controller itself features a classic eight-button layout but adds interchangeable square, circular, and octagonal stick gates, allowing players to customize the feel of the joystick. Sony has also designed the unit with an ergonomic tilt intended to improve comfort during extended gaming sessions. The fight stick is scheduled for release on August 6, 2026, coinciding with the debut of the new PlayStation and PC game MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

Completing the lineup later this year will be the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. The speakers utilize the same planar magnetic driver technology found in Sony’s Pulse Explore earbuds and Pulse Elite headset, aiming to deliver immersive, high-fidelity audio without requiring users to wear a headset. Sony has yet to announce pricing for the Pulse Elevate speakers, but further details are expected in the coming months as the company continues to expand its gaming-focused accessory ecosystem.
