Major update #8 makes Manor Lords feel fresh again

Manor Lords just got a huge reason to come back
Updates & Patches

Manor Lords just got one of its biggest updates yet, and if your medieval settlement has been gathering dust for a while, this might be the perfect excuse to jump back in.

Major Update #8 brings a chunky list of new features to the game, including a brand-new Wide Valley map, cows, a new crop, cider, mead, expanded construction mechanics and plenty of changes designed to make running a growing settlement feel deeper.

One of the biggest additions is the new Construction Yard. Instead of relying entirely on your available families to handle every building project, you can now assign professional builders who stock materials, transport resources and tackle more advanced construction jobs. Oxen also become much more useful here, with Ox Carts capable of moving several timbers at once.

And yes, cows have finally arrived. Players can import, breed and raise cows, collect Milk and eventually turn it into Cheese through the new Cheesemonger artisan. Livestock management has also become more involved, especially during winter, when animals need Animal Feed to survive. Sheep and cows now follow seasonal breeding cycles too, making farming feel a little less like placing resources on a map and a little more like managing an actual medieval economy.

More food, more drinks and less micromanagement

The update also introduces Oats, which can be eaten or converted into Animal Feed, alongside two new drinks: Cider and Mead. Apples can now be brewed into Cider, while Honey can be transformed into Mead.

Another welcome addition is Seasonal Assignments, letting you automatically change which families work certain jobs depending on the time of year. Anyone who has spent autumn manually moving workers around will probably appreciate that one immediately.

Artisan production has been improved as well, while Trading Posts now offer better storage filtering. Add a new Large Stone Church, revised pasture mechanics, improved AI behaviour and plenty of economy and balance tweaks, and this starts feeling like much more than a simple content drop.

For returning players, Major Update #8 is probably one of the clearest signs yet that it's worth reopening an old save—or starting a completely new settlement and seeing how differently everything plays now.

And there is already more coming, with another update planned to introduce additional Perks.
