Diablo IV is unveiled at BlizzCon 2019
BlizzCon 2018 kind of disappointed some players with its announcements. Being mainly focused on the arrival of WoW Classic and Warcraft III Reforged, fans of other Blizzard licenses felt somewhat left out.
But it seems that Blizzard has decided this year not to disappoint the players again, and it came up with several major announcements, including Overwatch 2, and that which interests us here, the long-awaited Diablo IV.
This announcement had been foreseeable for some time, especially because of a recent advertisement in the German magazine Gamestar with an artbook incorporating images of Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III, and Diablo IV, but the thing is now official.
We were able to learn a little more about the next title in the Diablo series. In the cinematic trailer of ten minutes, we discover the enemy to whom we will obviously deal in this new game: Lilith. Also called The Daughter of Hatred, she is none other than the daughter of Mephisto, and creator of humanity. In addition to this cinematic that has made us all excited, some elements on the gameplay have also been revealed.
Diablo IV will feature five different classes at its release, but only three of them have been revealed so far: the Barbarian, the Sorceress, and the Druid. It will be possible to customize the appearance of our characters, but also their skills, with a talent tree in the manner of Diablo II. The Rune System of Diablo III does not seem to have been abandoned either, and it seems that Diablo IV features a combination of the two systems. We will be able to roam freely through the open world of Sanctuary, which will be divided into five regions: Scosglen, Fractured Peaks, Arid Steppes, Hawezar, and Kehjistan. We can also traverse the world of Diablo IV with the help of mounts. Finally, we are promised "hundreds of dungeons," and the opportunity to play both PvE and PvP.
This is of course only a summary of the main features of the game, and we can not wait to learn more. Even though all this looks very promising, we have no date or release window for the moment. We will probably have to be patient because the developers said that Diablo IV is only at the beginning of its development.
