Detailed specifications for the AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE have leaked
Videocardz has disclosed more comprehensive specifications for the upcoming RDNA 4 graphics card. For the most part, these details align with what has been previously reported. However, they indicate a GPU boost clock speed of 2.79 GHz, which is an improvement over AMD's Radeon RX 9070.
In terms of computing power, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE stands close to AMD's RX 9070 with a performance of 34.3 TFLOPs compared to 36.1 TFLOPs. Nonetheless, the new RX 9070 GRE has a narrower memory bus (192-bit versus 256-bit) and comes with less GDDR6 memory (12GB versus 16GB). Additionally, the RX 9070 GRE features slower GDDR6 memory at 18 Gbps, whereas the RX 9070 operates at 20 Gbps.
With the introduction of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, AMD aims to bridge the performance gap between the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9060 XT. Similar to their other RDNA 4 GPUs, AMD intends to provide excellent value with this latest release. Through these competitive clock speeds, AMD seeks to offer great options for PC gamers.

The rumored GRE is said to utilize the same Navi 48 silicon as the AMD RX 9070 XT, which means that this graphics card will have 25% of its silicon’s compute units and memory bus turned off. This results in significantly lower performance compared to AMD's RX 9070 XT or RX 9070.
At this time, the performance metrics and pricing for this new GRE GPU remain uncertain. Considering its 12GB memory, this GPU is likely designed to target RTX 5070-like performance while aiming for a more affordable price bracket. A price range between $429 and $469 appears plausible. If AMD can introduce this GPU at a competitive price with sufficient availability, it would make a valuable addition to the mid-range GPU segment.
