ARC Raiders Receives Its First Big Update
The frozen north is calling, and ARC Raiders players have a new reason to answer. Today, developer Embark Studios rolls out the highly anticipated North Line update, a sweeping expansion that reshapes the cooperative extraction shooter with new zones, tougher enemies, and a community-driven event that makes every player's effort count. It's a turning point for the game's world, which has evolved since it was released.
Expanded gameplay and novelties
The main addition to the game with this update is Stella Montis, a stark new environment carved into the northern mountains. Far from the familiar wastelands and rusting machinery of Speranza, Stella Montis is cold, sterile, and unsettlingly quiet. Its sprawling underground labs and frozen ridges offer both new tactical opportunities and fresh dangers, forcing squads to adapt to unfamiliar terrain and shifting threats. But here's the catch: you'll have to earn your way in.
The "Breaking New Ground" event, launching alongside the update, invites the entire player base to collaborate in rebuilding the tunnels leading north. By donating scavenged materials as Metal Parts, Fabric, Chemicals, Rubber, and Plastic, players contribute to a shared progress bar that will ultimately unlock the new region for everyone. It's a clever way to tie player effort directly to world expansion, creating a sense of momentum that most shooters never achieve. Once the tunnels open, the event transitions into "Staking Our Claim," a second phase filled with time-limited missions and exclusive rewards running through December.
And of course, a new frontier brings new threats. Two fearsome ARC machines, the Matriarch and Shredder, have joined the enemy ranks, each offering distinct tactical challenges. The Matriarch can deliver crushing attacks and the Shredder is a relentless aggression machine. With them, the battlefield just got a lot deadlier. Fortunately, players have a few new tricks of their own, including a legendary weapon, three new mines, and two powerful grenades to turn the tide.
Embark isn't stopping there. The studio has already teased December's "Cold Snap" event, which will coat the world in snow, introduce new limited-time objectives, and reset Expedition Project Raider for a clean slate. It's clear the team is building toward a steady rhythm of content that evolves not just the gameplay, but the world itself.
What makes the North Line update special is its sense of purpose. By combining community goals, fresh challenges, and environmental storytelling, Embark is pushing ARC Raiders closer to what live-service games often promise but rarely deliver: a shared, evolving world shaped by the players who inhabit it.
This is the perfect time to jump in and see how far the game has come. The North Line is a chance to join at the moment ARC Raiders begins to find its identity: cold, dangerous, and full of potential. As usual, our comparator can provide you with the best offers for ARC Raiders with a single click.
