For me the best thing is how ARC Raiders makes you always want one more game. The combat system, the extraction mechanics and the constant thrill of facing players and enemies make it never get monotonous. Arc Raiders' absence from the GOTY doesn't surprise me at all, and to be honest, I think it's well deserved. A gameplay loop that quickly goes round in circles, very little to do (only 3 levels of improvements per crafting station), lots of problems, a studio that takes far too long to fix them (venator nerf 4 after 3 weeks, door glitch still unpatched...) Graphically the game has style, the atmosphere is great. But a beautiful facade doesn't make up for a background that's just as lacking in consistency. Its absence from the GOTY is therefore no injustice, just the reflection of a project that, as it stands, is not up to scratch. Perhaps, with time and real improvements, it will be able to claim this title. But for this year, it clearly had no place.

I'm not a regular fan of competitions like the Game Awards, but this year I'll be following with interest thanks to ARC Raiders. The way the game has brought people together, the increase in players and the push it's been given by streamers like Shroud make it very special. The game is very good, so I wouldn't be shocked if it won the nomination for multiplayer games. However, far be it from me to denigrate the game, but it's up against stiff competition from Death Stranding 2, Kingdom Come 2, MGS Delta and above all Expedition 33, which is sure to win everything, including the GOTY like Baldur's Gate 3. But for the best multiplayer games, it's got a good chance. It's between him, BF6, Elden Ring Nightreigh, Peak and Split Fiction.

The complete absence of Arc Raiders from the Game of the Year awards frustrates me. It's a game that, despite its flaws, offers a truly unique cooperative experience, a well-developed world and memorable combat. I am not surprised that Arc Raiders did not make the GOTY list. The game has huge potential, but it was launched with too many technical problems and content that felt like early access. The Game Awards mainly reward games polished from start to finish, and Arc Raiders was still not quite up to snuff. I hope it improves with future updates and comes back stronger next year
