The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom unveils its final trailer
Nintendo has announced the final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom one month before the release of one of the year's most anticipated games. The trailer starts by showing several landscapes of this yet-to-be-explored Hyrule, displaying varied ecosystems from a small village, a desert, and ruins in the sky.
We also saw a glimpse of dungeons, a staple in every Zeldas that bears the familiar puzzles in Link's adventures, and an introduction to the narrative permeating this new journey.
Surprisingly, Zelda mentions in the trailer that Link will not have to face his challenges alone, and what appear to be allied NPCs appear fighting alongside our hero in green, such as Sidon, the prince of the Zora. This time, Ganon returns as the villain in a humanoid form, unlike his bestial appearance as Calamity Ganon in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The trailer ends with Zelda seemingly lost, calling out for Link to find her. In previous trailers, it was shown that the Master Sword, the most iconic equipment from the saga, was broken.
At the end of March, another video showed more about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay and its new additions, such as Fuse, Recall, and Ascend features. Recall and Ascend promise to help a lot with Link's mobility now that he has to explore the verticality of the sky islands. Another new feature that should please fans who couldn't stand the mechanics of equipment durability is the possibility of strengthening Link's arsenal by unifying elements found in the scenery with the Fuse system. A simple and weak tree branch can now become a powerful weapon when combined with a stone, for example. In addition, it is also possible to connect items to the character's shield, creating new strategies when facing opponents.
The Fuse ability also allows for creating transportation methods for Link, who has been seen traveling using a wind-powered boat, a flying machine, and now, in the final trailer, a jetpack. With this new Zelda installment, Nintendo promises to deliver innovations and discoveries that only depend on the player's creativity. To this day, some fans are still discovering new stuff in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We imagine that Tears of the Kingdom finds will last several years and yield many exciting discoveries on the game forums worldwide.
The game's launch is incredibly close to us, May 12th, giving you time to purchase a Switch to experience what promises to be a major contender at this year's TGA.
