Everything About Resident Evil Requiem: Release and Story
Capcom has officially confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem, the next major entry in its legendary survival-horror franchise, will release worldwide on February 27, 2026. The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders went live on October 29, 2025, coinciding with Capcom’s official "Road to Requiem" campaign and a story recap video shared through PlayStation Blog.
All the details about an anticipated release
While Capcom hasn't published an exact global launch schedule, the release is expected to follow the standard digital rollout, becoming available at midnight local time for each region. Players who pre-load digitally will likely be able to dive in as soon as the clock strikes twelve on launch day.
The Different Editions of Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom is offering multiple editions of Resident Evil Requiem, each tailored for different types of players.
-
Standard Edition: Includes the full base game and a pre-order bonus outfit, "Grace's Costume: Apocalypse."
-
Deluxe Edition: Adds five alternate costumes (including the fan-favorite “Grace’s Costume: Dimitrescu”), four unique weapon skins, a pair of visual filters, weapon charms, bonus audio content, and additional collectible files that expand the game’s lore.
-
Collector's / Premium Edition: Bundles everything from the Deluxe Edition and adds a limited-edition SteelBook case along with a lenticular art card, designed for physical collectors.
-
Switch 2 "Generation Pack": Nintendo's next-gen console will receive a special Resident Evil Generation Pack that includes Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – Gold Edition, Resident Evil Village – Gold Edition, and Resident Evil Requiem in one comprehensive collection.
In addition, Capcom is rolling out several platform-exclusive bonuses. PC players who pre-order via the Epic Games Store will receive crossover cosmetic items for Fortnite, featuring Grace Ashcroft's outfit. Nintendo fans can look forward to a Resident Evil Requiem-themed Pro Controller launching alongside the game and a Grace Ashcroft Amiibo, set to release in summer 2026.
The story so far
Resident Evil Requiem introduces Grace Ashcroft, a newly minted FBI agent whose sharp intellect and unyielding determination lead her into the heart of a chilling new bioterror crisis. While the game welcomes new players, longtime fans will recognize familiar undertones, like mysterious organizations, biological experimentation gone wrong, and echoes of Raccoon City, the birthplace of the series' horrors.
According to Capcom's official story recap, Resident Evil Requiem aims to balance accessibility with deep lore. It retains the core pillars of the series, tense survival gameplay, limited resources, exploration, and puzzle-solving, while allowing players to switch seamlessly between first-person and third-person perspectives. This flexibility is designed to appeal to fans of both Resident Evil 7’s immersive style and the classic over-the-shoulder approach of Resident Evil 4 and Village.
Grace's story promises to expand the Resident Evil universe in new and unexpected ways, connecting modern bioterrorism narratives with the series’ long-standing themes of fear, corruption, and human resilience in the face of biological nightmares.
A new chapter for survival horror
With Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom looks to honor nearly three decades of survival-horror legacy while pushing the franchise forward with cutting-edge visuals and fresh storytelling. The game launches globally on February 27, 2026, with pre-orders now available across all major platforms. As usual, the best discounts for Resident Evil Requiem are available with our comparator.
