Palworld gets an important hotfix after its full release
Palworld has officially left Early Access, but Pocketpair is already back at the workbench with update 1.0.1, the game’s first hotfix following its massive full release. It may not introduce a new island, a collection of mysterious Pals or another terrifying tower boss, but this compact update tackles something far more important: keeping your hard-earned progress safe.
The biggest fix addresses an issue that could cause save data to be unintentionally discarded after performing certain operations. Pocketpair has not revealed exactly what triggered the problem or how many players were affected, but any bug capable of deleting hours of exploration, crafting and Pal-catching deserves immediate attention. Nobody wants to return from an adventure only to discover that their perfectly organised base has vanished into the digital void.
Campfires should warm you, not cook you forever
Update 1.0.1 also fixes an annoying problem where the Burning status effect could continue after players touched a campfire. Palworld can already be chaotic enough when wild creatures, raiders and questionable workplace decisions collide, so remaining permanently toasted by your own cozy campfire was probably not part of the intended survival experience.
Console players receive a couple of additional improvements. On PlayStation, Pocketpair has corrected a save error that could repeatedly appear when returning to the title screen. Xbox users should also experience smoother journeys, as the update fixes a problem that caused the game to freeze for roughly 30 seconds after using Fast Travel. That pause may not sound enormous, but it was long enough to make players wonder whether their console had completely given up.
This is clearly a stability-focused hotfix rather than another content drop. It does not introduce new equipment, building features, Pals or major balance changes. However, that is exactly what Palworld needs immediately after version 1.0. With a huge number of returning players loading old worlds and newcomers creating their first questionable Pal-powered factories, save protection and platform stability should remain Pocketpair’s biggest priorities.
Update 1.0.1 shows that the studio is responding quickly to serious launch problems, even if the wider polishing process is only beginning. Palworld’s full release is finally here, and now Pocketpair must ensure the adventure remains stable enough for players to enjoy everything it offers.
