A free demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been released for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S, giving players on those platforms an opportunity to experience the game ahead of its full launch in June. The move represents a notable expansion for the title, which originally debuted on PlayStation, as Square Enix continues to bring the remake trilogy to a broader audience.

The demo offers access to the opening portion of the game, including its early chapters. Players can step into the role of Cloud Strife as the story moves beyond Midgar, introducing a wider world, expanded exploration, and the game's hybrid combat system. The preview provides several hours of gameplay that cover the first two chapters of the full game.

Progress made during the demo can be transferred to the full version once it releases, allowing players to continue seamlessly. In addition, those who try the demo will receive in-game rewards, such as bonus items that can be used in the main game.

 

 

Originally launched in 2024 as the second installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, Rebirth continues the reimagined story of the classic 1997 RPG.
