Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will launch its largest post-release update yet with the arrival of Season One on December 4, 2025. The new season will deliver significant additions across every core mode, including fresh maps, a new Zombies experience, a major Warzone update, and an expanded co-op storyline in Endgame. Thse will bring a plethora of new activities and unlockable rewards to a game that is unexpectedly struggling in some areas, especially in the Campaign mode.
The new content includes a variety of content spanning all modes in the game that will also be reflected in Warzone, the free-to-play version of Call of Duty. But what's coming to the game?
Season One deepens the narrative as Alden Dorne overtakes The Guild and targets David Mason in a new chapter centered on the C-Link neural device. The Avalon map becomes the stage for world events such as the Colossus of Avalon and Toxic Tyrant, while new Exotic Skills and a stealth-focused Phantom Track broaden player progression. A festively themed CODMAS update is set to arrive later in the season.
Players can jump into multiple new Multiplayer arenas, including Utopia, Fate, and Odysseus, alongside the return of the iconic Standoff. Mid-season additions like Yakei and a holiday remix of Hijacked further bolster the lineup. Classic modes such as Prop Hunt and Gun Game return, and a new mode called Takeover launches later in the season.
Zombies launches its newest battleground with Astra Malorum, an abandoned observatory floating near Saturn’s rings. The season introduces the OSCAR enemy class, the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon, new GobbleGums, and the return of Mule Kick. Additional modes, including a guided Directed Mode and the challenging Cursed Mode, expand replayability. A festive “Jingle Hells” variant arrives for the holidays.
Warzone adds Haven’s Hollow, a Resurgence map set in the Appalachian region, while Verdansk receives updated points of interest including Factory and Signal Station. Black Ops 7’s movement and equipment systems fully integrate into the battle royale experience on day one.
The Season One Battle Pass features new weapons, operator skins, attachments, and cosmetic bundles. Unified seasonal leveling ties progress across Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and Endgame, making rewards easier to earn for all playstyles.
With sweeping updates across every game mode and additional content scheduled mid-season, Black Ops 7 Season One sets an energetic pace for the year ahead and marks one of the franchise’s most ambitious seasonal launches to date. However, it's too early to know if all these changes will be enough to satisfy a communitly that doesn't seem quite pleased about the state of the game, especially when it comes to the Campaign. The additional content for Multiplayer, Zombies and even Warzone will indeed be well received, but saving the Campaign may be beyond possible at this time. We will have to wait to see the impact of the additions and changes but they hopefully will be for the best.
