Now, continue the story in XCOM : Enemy Within, an expansion where everything is bigger, and loads of new content awaits. All the while, still giving you the turn-based action you come to expect from the series. With new maps, new enemies, and new tactics you'll need to employ, this is a true expansion of the series. Just to start with what's different in XCOM : Enemy Within, you'll be able to construct new Genetics Labs in order to augment your soldiers with all-new abilities. You can augment just about every single body part in order to give them an edge in battle. Or, if cybernetics are more your style, you can build an exosuit for your soldiers and take that into battle. Each of which can be customized your way with whatever kind of weapons you want. Plus, there's loads of new weapons to use no matter what way you make your soldiers. The Foundry is cranking out some pretty good showstoppers you'll definitely want to try. The enemies in XCOM : Enemy Within are more than you might expect. Aside from two new alien types that you'll have to adapt to, there's also the organization known as EXALT that is trying to stop you. Add all of that to new tactical challenges you can do, new maps to explore and have fun on, and an expanded multiplayer mode, and you'll just what this expansion is everything the main game is, and more.

Explain the mechanics of 'gene mods' and how they influence a soldier's capabilities and strategic value in combat.
Gene mods are enhancements applied to soldiers to grant them new abilities or improve existing ones. They add strategic depth by specializing soldiers, like improving mobility, defense, or enhancing psi abilities, shaping squad composition.
What is the strategic significance of the 'EXALT' organization, and how does engaging with or ignoring them affect overall campaign progress?
EXALT is a hidden faction that requires active investigation via covert operations. Ignoring EXALT allows them to make progress and can lead to setbacks, while engaging with them offers rewards and intel, but can be risky.
How do 'cybernetic implants' impact soldier progression and tactical decision-making compared to the standard soldier classes?
Cybernetic implants provide soldiers with new abilities and enhancements, but also change their behavior. Using cybernetics influences squad build due to the unique tactical options they unlock and their resource costs.
