The Elder Scrolls Online prepares for Gold Road
The Elder Scrolls Online is an exciting MMORPG set in Tamriel, the fantasy world created by Bethesda Softworks. Following the success of games like Morrowind, Oblivion, and especially Skyrim, the franchise delved into a new genre with this experience that has been delivering thrilling adventures to a myriad of players. The game offers a sprawling world to explore with countless quests to complete, challenging enemies to defeat, and plenty of activities to engage in, including PVP. However, The Elder Scrolls Online is now much bigger than when it was released.
Developer Zenimax Online Studio opted for an expansion formula that has been working like a charm for many years already, which is releasing year-long expansions focused around a new chapter of the story. Each of these includes several DLC with additional content and a major expansion that introduces new features, new zones to explore, and the core of the new story. Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, Greymoor, Blackwood, High Isle, and Necrom have shaped Tamriel and its story over the last decade, and now a new expansion will soon the already huge world even bigger.
Gold Road
The permanent threat of the Draedra whose machinations and motivations are fathomless serves again as an excuse to deliver a new chapter in the story of Tamriel. In Gold Road, a new Draedra Prince threatens the world as his devoted followers conspire to immerse Tamriel in chaos. Once more, players will be at the core of a thrilling story that will take them to new lands. In this case, the expansion lets them explore the West Weald, home of the Colovian Imperials. From the lush jungle of Valenwood to the opulence of the city of Skingrad, the expansion offers you plenty of new territory to discover as you progress through the story, help unravel the Draedric conspiracy, and keep the incursions of these otherworldly creatures at bay.
Gold Road brings much more in terms of new content and gameplay mechanics to The Elder Scrolls Online. The expansion adds Scribing, an all-new game system that lets you collect and customize skills to make your character unique. This alone will be game-changing, but with Skill Styling you will also be able to change the visuals for your key abilities. If you are part of a big group, the new trial for 10 players lets you explore an ancient Draedric vault in search of an artifact, while you defy challenging encounters and powerful bosses in the Lucent Citadel.
This year's expansion for The Elder Scroll Online follows the same pattern as its predecessors, and the conclusion to its story will arrive a bit later. However, it will provide enough novelties to keep all fans of the game busy for quite a while. The release of The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is scheduled for June 3 on PC, and June 18 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
