The Elder Scrolls Online announces the Season of the Worm Cult
The Elder Scrolls Online has allowed countless players to live exciting adventures in the world of Tamriel for over ten years. The MMORPG has expanded its original content with quite a few expansions, following a unique model that releases themed campaigns alongside DLC on a yearly basis and introduces new features and classes to make the game even more interesting. Developer ZeniMax Online Studios has now changed to a new season-based expansion model that still promises to deliver tons of novelties to keep TESO fresh for both veterans and newcomers.
A new structure
Instead of releasing a big expansion every year accompanied by several DLC, the new model will focus on enhancing the game while still adding novelties via a Content Pass. The first episode in this new journey is the Season of the Worm Cult. A free prologue quest that is currently available will send players to investigate and uncover the terrible truth about the resurgence of an evil cult. It will also introduce a new way of representing emotional dialogue choices for a more interactive experience. The new adventure will serve as a prelude to what's to come on June 2 with the introduction of a new explorable territory in the south of Tamriel, the isle of Solstice. This tropical island full of ancient ruins will be the scenario for the events in a new campaign revolving around the Worm Cult that will bring the return of some familiar faces.
The Season of the Worm Cult will also come with a rework of the tutorial accompanied by a rework of the starting zones that will make it more appealing to new players offering a better way to get into the game. The most notable feature coming alongside the new season is the subclasses system. It will allow players to add skills from other classes different from their main one to one of their skill lines, effectively multiclassing and increasing the number of possible combinations to more than 3000.
With those additions, The Elder Scrolls Online is set to continue offering an outstanding MMORPG experience that will keep players engaged for the months to come. Of course, the developer studio has more ambitious plans for the game and you can read about the Season of the Worm Cult and what's beyond it on the official website. Remember that all the new content will be available as part of the The Elder Scrolls Online 2025 Content Pass which is available at the best price with our comparator.
