Piracy enters a new age with Skull and Bones
Pirates have always been a recurrent theme in the world of video games. From the old days of Sid Meier's Pirates to more modern titles like Sea of Thieves, the genre has evolved a lot over the years. It's now entering a new era with the upcoming release of Skull and Bones from Ubisoft. The game has gone through a complicated development process, and it's been subject to many changes, but as we recently told you, Ubisoft was ready to reveal Skull and Bones today during a dedicated event.
Long Live Piracy
A spectacular cinematic trailer serves as an introduction to the world of Skull and Bones, an exciting open-world action game with a deep focus on multiplayer. You start the game as a rookie pirate captain with a small vessel. From there, you will build up your reputation as a pirate captain through the Infamy system by successfully completing missions, exploring new lands, hunting treasures, and more.
Dominating the seas and becoming a legendary pirate is your goal in Skull and Bones. The game features a series of gameplay systems that include gathering materials, crafting, exploration, and more. All of those systems are oriented to help you progress in naval battles. Not only can you build better ships, but you can also equip them with a wide variety of artillery weapons, greek fire, cannons of multiple types, and more. Depending on the capabilities of your ship and the different equipment loadouts you choose to equip it with, you can take quite different roles in battle.
You can immerse yourself in the vast sea of Skull and Bones alone, but it's always better and more exciting to do it with friends. Sharing your missions and cooperating with other pirates to take on bigger targets is the best way to progress in your pirate career. Of course, Skull and Bones also features PvP battles. Engaging other players in nautical combats or taking on too challenging enemies can end with your ship sunk. In that case, you will lose some of your progress, but if you are fast enough, you may reach your last location and recover whatever the victors have not claimed.
Overall, Skull and Bones seems designed to offer a long-lasting experience with a deep level of player involvement and interaction. Ubisoft has also confirmed that a lot of free additional content will be available post-launch, so be ready to sign up for a long adventure if you decide to jump into the world of Skull and Bones.
Skull and Bones will launch on November 8, 2022, on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. You will find the best prices to buy your Skull and Bones code with our comparator ahead of the release.
