Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is expanding with new modes and DLC
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is getting a fresh burst of content today, January 26, 2026, as developers BANDAI NAMCO and Spike Chunsoft release new gameplay modes to expand the player experience. The free update introduces Mission 100, a challenging single-player mode designed to test skill, strategy, and familiarity with the game’s roster. Players will tackle 100 unique missions, each with its own objectives and battle scenarios, offering both variety and replayability for fans of the series.
As an addition, a Survival Mode is slated for release in spring 2026. This mode will push players to their limits with continuous battles that grow progressively harder, emphasizing endurance, resource management, and tactical decision-making. While an exact release date has yet to be announced, Survival Mode promises to complement the challenge-oriented design of Mission 100, adding another layer of depth to the single-player experience.
A big DLC is on the way
Looking further ahead, the developers have revealed plans for a major paid DLC expansion set to launch in summer 2026. Like Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO - Dragon Ball DAIMA: Character Pack 1 and other previous DLC, this premium content will introduce new playable characters, including Super Android 17, King Piccolo, and Super Saiyan Bardock, alongside new stages, costumes, and customizable super attacks. Fans can also expect additional battle customization options and fresh costume variants, such as young Gohan, allowing for more personalization and strategic variety in combat.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, with some content updates rolling out slightly later on the Switch platforms compared to other systems. These updates will contribute to making the game a solid option for the fans of the Dragon Ball universe, combining free and paid content to keep the community engaged throughout 2026.
Today’s release of Mission 100 marks the start of an exciting year for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, building on its already robust fighting mechanics while offering fans both new challenges and upcoming enhancements. With Survival Mode and the summer DLC on the horizon, players have plenty to look forward to as the game continues to expand its universe and gameplay possibilities.
