Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance DLC Launching in 2027

Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance Expansion Revealed!
Updates & Patches

Capcom officially stole the spotlight at Summer Game Fest 2026 by unveiling the first massive expansion for its hit action-RPG, titled Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. Scheduled for a 2027 release, this highly anticipated DLC is set to take the hunting experience to unprecedented heights. The expansion introduces the traditional end-game Master Rank difficulty, promising to push veteran hunters to their absolute limits with punishing new challenges and higher-tier gear rewards.

A New Frontier: Hunting Above the Clouds in Ascendance

The most striking feature of Ascendance is its shift in setting. Moving away from the ground-level ecosystems of the base game, the expansion introduces a breathtaking new biome known as the Skybound Eyrie. This vibrant, high-altitude locale consists of massive floating islands and ancient, ruin-adorned structures suspended high above the clouds.

To navigate this highly vertical environment, players will utilize their trusted Seikret mounts to catch powerful updrafts, gliding seamlessly between fractured landmasses.

Supercharge Your Combat and Face Mountain-Sized Threats

Combat is also receiving a substantial overhaul via a fresh piece of equipment called the Boost Bracer. This new mechanic adds explosive actions, enhanced combos, and fluid mobility options for all 14 weapon types, allowing hunters to temporarily supercharge their playstyle. These tools will be vital, as the narrative focuses on a sudden, catastrophic surge of Elder Dragons.

Classic threats like the steel-winged Kushala Daora make their return, adapting to the sky terrain, while the trailer's end heavily teased the legendary, mountain-sized Lao-Shan Lung.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance launches in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, featuring full cross-play. In a surprise update, Capcom also confirmed the base game and expansion are currently in development for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, expanding the hunt to a brand-new generation of portable hardware. L'espansione sembra molto promettente con il ritorno del Grado Maestro, le nuove aree aeree e alcuni mostri emblematici. Resta da vedere se porterà anche un vero e solido contenuto endgame, ma per ora è chiaramente desiderabile
The expansion looks very promising with the return of the Master Rank, new aerial areas, and some iconic monsters. Whether it will also bring true and solid endgame content remains to be seen, but for now it is clearly desirable

Cette extension me donne vraiment envie !
I'm really looking forward to this expansion! I hope we'll see the return of more Elder Dragons in addition to those already announced, and why not a few Black Dragons to offer real end-game battles. I'm also really looking forward to the new weapons. As a Hunter's Horn player, I find my shot list a bit limited compared to MH World. I therefore hope that this DLC will add several new attacks or sequences to make the weapon even more varied and satisfying to play.

Wilds had a rough start but the updates turned it around, and now Ascendance looks like the expansion the game always deserved. Floating islands, Master Rank, Lao-Shan Lung making a comeback after all these years. Capcom clearly saved the best stuff for this. The Boost Bracer looks fun too, though I want to see more of how it actually plays before getting too hyped.
