Markarth puts an end to The Dark Heart of Skyrim in The Elder Scrolls Online

Through the last year, The Elder Scrolls Online players have been able to immerse themselves in a new storyline that unveiled an evil conspiration that did put the lands of Skyrim under a huge threat. The Dark Heart of Skyrim year-long adventure comes to its epic conclusion now with the release of Markarth, the final chapter of the storyline. It arrives in the form of a new DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online which is available to players with an ESO Plus subscription or those that unlock it through the Crown Store in the game. The story in this game pack reveals the true motivations of the Vampire Lord Rada al-Saran, and it also opens the wild lands of the Reach to the players, where the magnificent city of Markarth is located. You can also explore the depths of Arkthzand Caverns, a challenging area that lies below Markrath and is full of dangerous enemies.

To have access to the final content in The Dark Heart of Skyrim, you must have played through the previous storyline but Markarth also includes a brand new arena, Vateshran Hollows, in which you can face alone a number of threats and challenging opponents that will put your skills to the test, letting you claim the title of Spiritblood Champion if you manage to come out victorious.

Of course, the new areas include new quests and challenges for you to take on, and plenty of new rewards are waiting for you if you manage to complete them.

Developer ZeniMax Online Studios has not revealed what are the plans for the next season of The Elder Scrolls Online, and nobody really knows what to expect now since Microsoft bought it. It's quite likely that they will keep releasing content for the game but with The Elder Scrolls VI being on the scope we may have to wait to see what kind of impact it has on the world of Tamriel.
