Frostpunk 2 release has been delayed to September

When Frostpunk was released many players discovered an impressive strategy game that pitted them against extreme weather conditions with the survival of a whole city at risk. A freezing planet and a city where the few survivors gathered only sustained by the heat of a single generator awaited you in a challenging experience that put your management skills to the test while having to face life or death decisions. Later on, the city-building game from 11-bit Studios received three expansions. The Rifts, The Last Autumn, and On the Edge added plenty of novelties to the game, including new features, additional scenarios, and more. The announcement of a sequel was welcomed by the huge community that supports the first game, and the developer even offered players the opportunity to try Frostpunk 2 during a beta. Unfortunately, with the release of the game coming soon, 11-bit Studios has announced a delay.

Needs more time

The original release date for Frostpunk 2 was July 25 but it has now been moved to September 20. The reason behind this change is that the studio needs more time to implement additional features and polish the experience. The feedback received during the last beta event was very positive, but it has also made the developers reconsider some aspects of the gameplay experience. Things like more detailed workforce management have been suggested by those who tried the game, and they will be added to the game in order to improve the experience. 11-bit Studios has shared a post on Steam where it details all the changes coming to Frostpunk 2 before its released and they definitely look great. Therefore, a delay of two months in order to provide a better gameplay experience seems quite reasonable.

Frostpunk 2 will be the natural evolution of the original game. Thirty years after the events in the first game, you now are in a city that has survived the initial wave of cold. You have a multitude of new problems to tackle, including the management of different factions that have appeared, each with its own agenda. Also, your decisions won't be absolute, and you will have to strategically negotiate with a City Council where every faction is represented. This new political scenario will be just one of the novelties in Frostpunk 2, and will surely have the fans of the first game entertained for a long while.
