Frostpunk 2's beta will kick off next Monday

Frostpunk 2 is one of the most anticipated releases of 2024 in the genre of strategy. The sequel to the critically acclaimed Frostpunk is set 30 years after the events in the first game. The world is still frozen and the survival conditions are extremely hard but instead of starting from zero, you are now in control of a sprawling metropolis hungry for resources. The bad weather is still a defining factor in your agenda, but other pressing matters are starting to move to the first positions of your huge list of problems to solve. Disagreements between different factions in the city, law enforcement, severe lack of resources and their distribution between different projects, and many other issues require your attention as the city's steward. You will have to navigate this social and political turmoil while keeping the warmth at acceptable levels to prevent the city from being destroyed by a new and terrible threat: human nature.

If the original Frostpunk was crude when it came to making decisions that would cost human lives for the greater good, Frostpunk 2 follows the same pattern and it puts survival and morals on a balance. Maintaining a certain equilibrium between both is going to be harder than ever in this new real-time strategy experience that introduces new gameplay mechanics and a lot of novelties. However, the fans of the first game will surely be ready for the task.

Upcoming beta

Developer 11 bit Studios has announced that a Frostpunk 2 beta will run from 15th April until 22nd April 2024. To be invited to the event, you need to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game and then wait for the invitation. The announcement has been made via X. During the beta, the campaign will be left aside and participants will only have access to the sandbox mode,

Also, if you plan on joining the beta event, you may as well check the system requirements to play the Frostpunk 2 beta on PC, which has recently been revealed by the studio. Keep in mind that these may change for the final release of the game.
