Dune: Awakening announces a massive beta event

Developed by Funcom, Dune: Awakening aims to immerse players in the richly detailed universe of Frank Herbert's classic science fiction series, promising a unique blend of survival and exploration in the harsh deserts of Arrakis. If you are willing to try the new MMO survival experience set in the Dune universe you will be glad to know that Funcom is hosting a beta event for Dune: Awakening. The upcoming release of the title was recently delayed in an attempt by the developer to address some specific issues known from previous test stages. Now, the developer studio has announced a big beta event that will have "a huge number of players" participating.

Story trailer and beta dates

According to Funcom, the largest beta event for Dune: Awakening will run from 9th-12th May. Players participating in the event will have access to all of the game's features and will be able to experience the first chapter in the story. On the occasion of the beta announcement, a brand new official video showcasing the story has been published recently. Dune: Awakening reimagines the original story in the novels and films to explore a path where Paul Atreides didn't exist.

Duke Leto Atreides survived the assault on Arrakeen and is now locked in a brutal conflict with the Harkonnen over Arrakis and its precious spice.
