Baby Jump Mechanism: A Breakthrough Highlight in the Action Genre

Published and developed by Arc System Works, DAMON and BABY is scheduled for release on March 25, 2026. The game is an action-adventure and top-down / twin-stick shooter. It will be launched on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.

The game revolves around Damon, a demon dreaming of becoming the Great Demon King. However, after agreeing to help an old friend to look after a human child, Damon falls under a bizarre curse: he cannot stray further than a certain distance from the baby.

To break the curse, this "involuntary father" must escort the child through hordes of aggressive monsters toward the Heavenly Realm. Accompanying them are quirky characters like an angel who works in Hell Insurance, or a samurai warrior who has been turned into a goose.

With an action-adventure storyline, the developer has crafted gameplay that combines action and strategy. The game features an exclusive “Baby Jump” mechanism that allows the player to throw the baby and immediately teleport to that location. This mechanic can be used to dodge attacks or navigate treacherous terrain, providing the character with high mobility.

Not only that, the game also features a unique combat system that combines melee and twin-stick shooting. Players will have a diverse arsenal ranging from pistols and machine guns to grenade launchers. Players will alternate between exploring the world (fighting monsters, finding items) and returning to the Home Base to upgrade skills, purchase equipment, and change outfits for Damon.

Daisuke Ishiwatari (the father of the Guilty Gear series) personally designed the characters in a pop-art style mixed with eye-catching and personality-filled dark fantasy. He also personally composed the soundtrack, which features a blend of pop-punk and metal, promising a truly explosive experience.
