Concord reveals its seasonal roadmap and a future microtransaction store
Firewalk Studios, under the publishing wing of Sony, recently revealed that Concord—their upcoming live-service shooter—will not include a battle pass, a business model commonly seen in live-service games, especially free-to-play titles. However, since Concord won't be free-to-play, Firewalk stated they won't lock content behind seasonal paywalls. They also unveiled a roadmap detailing all the content that will be added to the game at no extra cost for those who purchase it.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, the game's director, Ryan Gillis, shared that Concord will receive at least three seasons of content updates after launch, alongside various smaller and seasonal updates, as well as a microtransaction store slated for October this year. The first season arrives in October and will introduce a new playable Freegunner, a brand-new map, new Freegunner variants, more earnable cosmetics and rewards, and a new season of weekly Cinematic Vignettes that will continue the story of the Northstar crew.
Concord Roadmap Revealed

Gillis mentioned that the first season will add a store to the game, offering players more ways to customize their Freegunners with additional items while supporting the game. In other words, it's a microtransaction store. However, the director assured that these items will only complement the hundreds of rewards that can be earned organically through progression in Concord. Additionally, all microtransaction items will be purely cosmetic and optional and won't impact gameplay.
In January 2025, the second update will introduce another character—bringing the total to 18—along with a new map, a new game mode, and, as usual, quality-of-life updates, new cutscenes, and more. The third update is set for April, though no details have been shared about it yet. Gillis also emphasized that Concord won't have battle passes, unlike other games in the genre, and all seasonal released content will be free. The only payment involved is the one you make when purchasing the game, plus any items sold through the online store.
The blog also revealed the global release times for the game on August 23. Remember, those who purchase the Deluxe Edition will have three days of early access. Check the image below to see when Concord will be available for players worldwide:
