Castlevania Advance Collection Out Now

If you’re one of those who never got to play the Game Boy Advance series of Castlevania episodes because you don’t own a Game Boy, now is your chance. The Castlevania Advance Collection is out today on the Nintendo eShop, bundling together Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (2001), Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (2002), and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (2003). And to sweeten the deal, you also get Castlevania: Dracula X (also known as Vampire’s Kiss in Europe). Check out the following announcement video from Konami.

Dracula X was originally Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (1993), a Super-PC CD-ROM game that was later remade for the PlayStation in 1995. You play Richter Belmont, who goes to Dracula’s Castle to rescue his love Annette and ends up facing the vampire king himself. Its sequel is one of the most critically acclaimed games in the Castlevania series: Symphony of the Night.

In Circle of the Moon, you play Nathan Graves, who searches Dracula’s castle for his mentor even as the vampire king is revived by his minion Camilla. Harmony of Dissonance lets you play as Juste Belmont, grandson of Simon, searching for his friends Maxim and Lydie in mirror images of Dracula’s castle. The last game, Aria of Sorrow, sees new protagonist Soma Cruz attempting to stop Dracula’s resurrection with the help of the enigmatic Arikado.  

The new Castlevania Advance Collection also includes the ability to rewind time (useful if you made a mistake), quicksave functionality, button mapping, an art gallery, a music player, and regional versions of each game. The Advance Collection truly brings these Game Boy Advance games to the modern platform.
