Today (May 12, 2026), Out of the Blue Games (the team behind part 1) and Kwalee officially launched Call of the Elder Gods, the sequel to the hit game Call of the Sea.

The game is primarily inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's work "The Shadow Out of Time," with a storyline revolving around two main characters: Professor Harry Everhart and Evangeline Drayton. Professor Harry Everhart confronts the shadows that plague his mind at Miskatonic University, while Evangeline Drayton is a student haunted by dreams of an artifact unearthed long ago.

In their search for answers, both will traverse a variety of scenarios, from libraries in New England to the red deserts of Australia, frozen lands, and even alien cities. They will embark on a journey to find missing loved ones and face ancient entities far beyond human understanding.

Call of the Elder Gods inherits the style of its predecessor but adds more depth, as players must search the environment for clues. Players can also swap between Harry and Evangeline to solve complex puzzles that require coordination between two different locations or timelines. The game also allows players to toggle hints, icons, and journal notes to suit their skill level, helping to ensure players do not feel overly stressed while searching for clues.

The selling point of this sequel lies in its features. First, the game is fully voiced by famous actors such as Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man) and Cissy Jones (Firewatch). When it comes to the soundtrack, composer Eduardo De La Iglesia (who won many awards for Part 1) continues his job in this sequel. Finally, the game supports 14 languages (interface and subtitles), offering most players a better level of immersion.
