Black Myth: Wukong looks absolutely gorgeous with Ray Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS
Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG developed and published by Game Science. It was first announced back in February 2020, and it is set to release on August 20, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game was originally developed using Unreal Engine 4, but eventually swapped to the Unreal Engine 5. Black Myth: Wukong draws inspiration from the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West", one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. It tells the story of Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King. Black Myth: Wukong will be set in an immersive world inspired by Chinese mythology and fantasy, where players take control of Sun Wukong, harness his magical abilities to transform into different forms, and engage in intense battles against various mythical creatures and monsters, all while exploring and uncovering different stories from various characters.
On March 14, 2024, NVIDIA released a video on their YouTube channel and announced on their website that Black Myth: Wukong will be launching this August with full ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 3.5:
To take Black Myth: Wukong to the next level, developer Game Science is upgrading the game with Full Ray Tracing, which will be enhanced by NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction on GeForce RTX PCs, giving GeForce gamers the definitive experience in this eagerly anticipated game.
Enabling Full Ray Tracing in Black Myth: Wukong sees environmental effects and detail taken to the next level. Reflections on water reflect all surrounding detail. Water caustics add further realism, accurately rendering the refraction and reflection of light. Fully ray-traced Global Illumination ensures lighting indoors and outdoors is pixel perfect, darkening areas where light is occluded or doesn’t reach, and realistically illuminating the world by bouncing light. And in concert with the lighting system, contact hardening and softening fully ray traced shadows are cast everywhere, rendering the smallest of shadows from leaves and pebbles, and those from geometry-rich buildings, the main character, and the gigantic bosses that must be overcome.
NVIDIA DLSS is NVIDIA's award-winning AI rendering technology that increases graphics performance in games and apps using dedicated Tensor Core AI processors on GeForce RTX GPUs. And their latest innovation, NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, features new DLSS Ray Reconstruction technology. When activated, DLSS Ray Reconstruction replaces hand-tuned ray tracing denoisers with a new unified AI model that enhances ray tracing in supported games, elevating image quality to new heights.
Besides Black Myth: Wukong, NVIDIA also announced that NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, Portal with RTX, and Star Wars™ Outlaws will be launching with DLSS 3 and Ray Tracing.
Black Myth: Wukong is scheduled to be released on August 20, 2024, on PC and Console platforms. Make sure to use our price comparison tool to preorder Black Myth: Wukong at the best price.
