Among the Sleep Free This Week on Epic Games

It’s the spookiest time of the year, and what better way to celebrate than to get another terrifying game for free. The survival horror game Among the Sleep is now available for free on the Epic Games store. It will be available from Oct. 21 to Oct 28 only, so grab it when it’s there. 

Specifically, this week’s free game is Among the Sleep Enhanced Edition. This new version features enhanced graphics, an integrated digital artbook and soundtrack, a set of pajamas for your character to wear, improved puzzles and gameplay, additional dialogue to enhance the story, a playable prologue, and a new level where you can explore some cut content, concept art, and behind the scenes material. Among the Sleep is a first-person horror game with a unique take: instead of a capable hero, you take on the point of view of a toddler, a defenseless child left unsupervised by your mother. You wake up to some strange noises in the middle of the night, leading you to wander into a dark realm that resembles a twisted version of Alice in Wonderland. There’s no combat; the horror comes as you explore this atmospheric world that resembles your house. 

Your only companion is Teddy, a tiny talking bear who gives you advice and moral support. If you hug him, he lights up to provide you with the means to navigate in the darkness. With his help, you find items, solve puzzles, and make your way through the maze-like confines of this world, even as you are pursued by a malevolent being that resembles a tall and frightful woman. 

Among the Sleep is hailed for its deep story and emotional revelations and its eerie atmosphere that links to childhood fears: darkness, strange noises, getting lost, and monsters in the closet.
