The Hunter is entirely customizable, allowing you to choose their gender, appearance, and abilities from over 40 superpowers. At the start of combat, you can select three heroes to bring to the fight. You are then dealt a random set of cards with effects that target your squad, the enemies, or the environment itself. No battle is ever the same. Analyze the battlefield, use the environment to your advantage, and defeat the demonic invaders before they can achieve their goal.
Relationships are essential in Marvel's Midnight Suns. In between missions, you can hang out with the heroes at an upgradable home base called the Abbey. Here you can explore the area and do extracurricular with your teammates to improve your relationships with them. This includes going on missions with Captain Marvel, doing yoga with Magik, taking walks with Tony Stark, and training with Ghost Rider. Each character has their own personality that you will need to discover and relate with through dialogue and choices. As you go through these activities, you can unlock rewards such as upgrades and abilities.
