SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a fighting game developed by SNK, based on a 2v2 tag-team gameplay system. Each player uses two characters per fight, and you choose who the main and the support are. You can't finish an enemy by just draining his health; you need to use a super attack, the "Dream Finish." The gameplay was designed to be completely different from the other The King of Fighters games, and it was made much more light-hearted, focusing solely on female fighters. The cast of characters is genuinely good and varied, and it does a few clever things in fights, but with so much focus in collecting invariably impractical outfits as fighting, no blood and with random items that spawn around the play-field, that this game is a lot of fun.

After the previous The King of Fighters tournament, many of the female fighters fell unconscious. They wake up in a castle that is in a pocket dimension, and they must defeat Kukri to return home.
