You can get Fortnite’s Battle Pass for Season 8 free!

We advanced a couple of days ago some of the new contents that would be coming to Fortnite with the launch of the v7.40 patch. Valentine's event and a new rifle, limited time modes, gifts, tournament, overtime challenges, and more. You can check the detailed patch notes here if you want to know about all the changes.

All would you expect for the end of Season 7 was included in the update, but Epic Games also had a big surprise for us in storage. You will be able to get the Battle Pass for Season 8 completely free! All you need to do to get your Battle Pass for the upcoming season is to complete 13 Overtime Challenges before February 27. That's all! You do that, and you will enjoy all the extra contents included in the pass. As a reminder, the Battle Pass comes full of tiers to unlock a lot of additional rewards as you play through a season. Those usually include cosmetic options, skins, wraps and XP boosters worth a few thousand V-bucks. That's more than enough reason to be excited about playing Fortnite for the rest of the month.

But we wonder if the reason behind this promotion could be the pressure that the launch and incredible success of Apex Legends might be putting on Fortnite. Could it be that Epic Games is already looking at Respawn's Battle Royale as a threat to their supremacy in the genre? Maybe, but at the end of the day, a bit of competition is to be welcomed, especially if the effect it´s going to have on the players is shown through promotions like this.
